Sabbatical Week 6

As the school vacations in Cordoba and Buenos Aires come to an end, more and more locals are resuming their normal activities.

I too have been busy teaching yoga in various locations. I was invited to take a yoga class at the “House of Friendship” in neighboring Villa Dolores. I observed Ana Franco’s class which was for elderly yogis. I love how she infused Tai Chi into her yoga. I am all for mixing it up and using things you learn from different sources and creating your own kind of yoga.

I had the opportunity to teach yoga to a group of more advanced students in Mina Clavero. I infused my yoga with a bit of Yin Yoga and Vinyasa flow. The students really appreciated how detailed my descriptions were and they were activating the correct muscles and following along great. One student says she was sweating and seemed surprised! You don’t need hot yoga to get those toxins out. If you practice yoga paying attention to details and activate and breathe into areas that need attention, you can gain a lot more from the practice.

Being able to teach in Spanish was very rewarding and the students did not have any problems! There is always something to learn! For example wrist in Spanish is “muñeco”. I had accidentally said “muñeca” which means doll. We all had a good laugh!

I have also been teaching at the Kalabharati School of dance and music. Some classes are face to face and some are online. The school has students in Buenos Aires and as far away as Europe!

I really enjoyed teaching class at 8:00 am during a spectacular sunrise in Cordoba. Here is a snippet of that class.

And here is what the sunrise in Los Hornillos, Cordoba looks like on a typical day.

Stay tuned for week 7!
